For this you will need a software utility called rEFInd. Am now planning to install the OS using bootcamp in Mac.

Well there isn't a whole lot of Mac > Linux users that technical with newer hardware.Click on File - New and choose to Install from disc or image. Create a bootable start disk using Ubuntu and a USB stick. So, it is impossible so far for me to install Ubuntu as a standalone OS.

The following steps my be helpful for anyone trying to install a disagreeable OS on mac hardware. Install ubuntu on mac If you cannot boot from the USB drive on your Mac, try burning a DVD.
